Testing policy

Purpose

Owners launch closed-testing campaigns for apps they own or are authorized to test. Testers are matched by profile fit, accept invitations they can finish, complete timed checkpoints, and submit honest private feedback. Credits reward completed work and fund new campaigns.

What owners must do

• Only register apps you own or are authorized to put into closed testing.
• Provide a valid closed-test opt-in link from allowed hosts (Play testing, Google Groups, or Forms).
• Write clear testing objectives and instructions.
• Never require public Play Store ratings, reviews, or social posts as a condition of testing.
• Confirm that BetaPool does not guarantee Google Play approval.
• Stay responsible for your own Google Play Developer Program Policy compliance.

What testers must do

• Keep country, languages, time zone, and devices accurate so matching stays fair.
• Accept only invitations you can install and test on real devices within the deadlines.
• Confirm closed-test opt-in, install, and first use when required.
• Complete checkpoints honestly and on time.
• Submit private structured feedback that reflects real use of the app.
• Do not leave public Play Store ratings or reviews as part of reciprocal testing on this platform.

Prohibited conduct

• Rating exchanges, review exchanges, or any requirement for public store feedback
• Buying, selling, or faking installs, opt-ins, checkpoints, or completion
• Emulator farms, bots, or automation used to fabricate testing activity
• Malware, phishing, or apps intended to harm users or steal data
• Collusion rings that farm credits without genuine testing
• Harassment, spam, or pressure outside product flows
• Claims that BetaPool is part of Google or guarantees Play approval
• Impersonation, multi-account abuse, or evasion of suspensions

Credits, reputation, and quality

Credits are earned for completed genuine work and spent to activate campaigns. There are no paid plans. Pending credits may be withheld for short, fake, or policy-breaking feedback. Reputation rises with timely, useful testing and falls for missed checkpoints, early dropouts, low-effort feedback, or policy violations. Matching prefers reliable testers.

Evidence and privacy

Checkpoint evidence and feedback are private to the campaign owner and platform moderators. Do not share other testers' identities or private campaign materials publicly. Upload only evidence you are allowed to share and that is needed for the checkpoint.

Enforcement

BetaPool may cancel assignments, withhold credits, reverse abusive gains, suspend or ban accounts, and refuse campaigns that break this policy. Users can report problems from inside the app. Moderators review reports and disputes; decisions are audited.

BetaPool is not affiliated with Google. Closed testing on this platform does not guarantee listing, review success, or any Play Console outcome. Owners remain solely responsible for how they run closed tests in Play Console and for all Play policies.
